Financial Support
Financial support will be provided to a limited number of students and early career scientists (up to three years after the doctoral defense)
A) via waiving of the conference fee
or
B) via waiving of the conference fee plus free accommodation in a shared room in the HP23 Student Residence in Aschaffenburg.

- mark this in the registration form
- send your CV by email to HP2023-Support-Application@cern.ch
- ask your supervisor to send a letter of recommendation to the same email address
Only complete applications received until January 10, 2023 can be considered. Notifications whether financial support will be granted will be sent by January 20, 2023.
Student Lecture Day
All students and early career scientists are encouraged to participate in the lecture day that will take place at GSI/FAIR in Darmstadt on Sunday, March 26, 2023. In particular, those participants receiving financial support are expected to attend the lectures.
For those who requested transportation from Aschaffenburg to GSI for the Student Day, the buses will depart from the B&B Hotel in Aschaffenburg (Heinrich-Böll-Straße 1) at 8:30AM. We kindly ask you to arrive at the hotel lobby starting at 8:00 to check in, so that we can avoid a long check-in at the entrance gate of GSI. Please note the change to Daylight Savings in Germany (UTC+2) will also happen on the morning of 26 March!
For those who did not request the bus from Aschaffenburg, please come directly to the GSI main gate (Planckstr. 1, 64291 Darmstadt) at 9:30, where you will receive your badge, and follow the directions to the SB1 Lecture Theatre.
The buses back to Aschaffenburg in the evening will depart from GSI at ~18:00, and will arrive at the B&B Hotel Aschaffenburg (Heinrich-Böll-Straße 1) by ~19:00.
Student Residence
Students and early career scientists can apply to stay in the HP23 Student Residence (B&B hotel in Aschaffenburg). A substantial contingent of shared double rooms has been blocked.
The room rate at the Residence is 51 EUR per night per person or will be covered by financial support "B" as explained above.
If you want to apply for the HP23 Student Residence please indicate this during the registration process.
Please note that this an application rather than a binding room reservation. Notifications of successful application for the HP23 Student Residence will be sent by January 25, 2023.
Student Helpers
As it is custom practice, we ask for the help of students during the sessions, e.g. by providing microphone support. We count on your help and will organize this at a later point in time.
