From 1 to 3 September 2026, the JICE will host the workshop 'Individual Differences in Social Behaviour of Human and Non-human Animals' as part of the Focus Group 'Individualisation in Changing Environments' at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ZiF).
The workshop will bring together researchers from a wide range of disciplines, including biology, psychology, sociology and philosophy, to foster interdisciplinary exchange on the causes and consequences of individuality in changing environments across species. It will explore how individual differences in social behaviour emerge, develop and shape interactions within human and animal societies.
In addition to presenting and discussing their current research, participants will engage in smaller working groups dedicated to specific topics – with the aim of developing new ideas and perspectives and laying the groundwork for future interdisciplinary collaborations.
