NRWege-Stipendien für Studierende mit Fluchterfahrung
Das International Office der Universität Münster vergibt Stipendien an Studierende mit Fluchterfahrung. Das Stipendien-Programm „NRWege ins Studium“ wird vom Ministerium für Kultur und Wissenschaft des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen finanziert.
Zielgruppe
Bewerben können sich Studierende mit Fluchterfahrung, die an der Universität Münster eingeschrieben sind. Sprachkursteilnehmende und Promovierende können sich nicht für das Stipendium bewerben.
Bewerbungsfrist
Sie können sich bis zum 31. Juli 2025 für das NRWege Stipendium bewerben.
Was sind die Bewerbungsvoraussetzungen?
Sie können sich unter folgenden Voraussetzungen bewerben:
- Sie haben Ihre Hochschulzugangsberechtigung im Ausland erworben
- Basierend auf Ihren bisherigen Leistungen ist ein erfolgreicher Abschluss des Studiums zu erwarten
- Sie empfangen keine Sozialleistungen (z.B. Bürgergeld/SGB II, Leistungen nach SGB XII, Asylbewerberleistung)
- Sie haben keine Niederlassungserlaubnis und keine deutsche Staatsangehörigkeit
- Sie sind bei Erstförderung nicht länger als 5 Jahre in Deutschland. Es gibt Ausnahmen von der 5-Jahre Regelung. Bitte kontaktieren Sie uns, falls Sie von der Regelung betroffen sind.
- Sie haben BAföG beantragt und ihr Antrag wurde abgelehnt/noch nicht bewilligt
- Sie haben kein anderes Einkommen (z.B. Gehalt, Stipendium) über ≥ 992 Euro

Welche Stipendienarten gibt es?
Vollstipendium | max. 12 Monate | max. 992 €/Monat
Leistungsstipendium | max. 12 Monate | max. 300 €/Monat (zusätzlich zu BAföG, Einkommen oder einem anderen Stipendium)
Wie können Sie sich bewerben?
Bitte füllen Sie bis zum 31. Juli 2025 unsere Online-Bewerbung aus und laden Sie die erforderlichen Bewerbungsunterlagen hoch.
Die Auswahlkommission prüft Ihre Bewerbung und entscheidet über die Vergabe der Stipendien unter Berücksichtigung der eingereichten Bewerbungsunterlagen. Die Auswahlentscheidung erfolgt bis spätestens zum 31. August 2025.
Welche Unterlagen müssen Sie hochladen?
Folgende Unterlagen müssen Sie im Rahmen der Online-Bewerbung hochladen:
- Lebenslauf
- Motivationsschreiben
- Warum benötigen Sie finanzielle Unterstützung?
- Warum haben Sie sich für Ihr Studium entschieden?
- Was sind Ihre Pläne nach dem Studium? - Aktuelle Studienbescheinigung
- Kopie des Aufenthaltstitels (beide Seiten)
- Selbstauskunft über finanzielle Situation
- Nachweis BAföG Antrag/-Ablehnungsbescheid
- Aktuelle Noten- bzw. Leistungsübersicht (ab dem 2. Semester)
- Gutachten einer Professorin/eines Professors zu fachlichen Leistungen und Aussicht auf Studienerfolg (erst ab dem 4. Fachsemester oder für ein Anschlussstipendium erforderlich)
- Nachweise über gesellschaftliches Engagement oder besondere Leistungen (falls vorhanden)
- Abschließende Erklärung
Was für Besonderheiten gibt es in Bezug auf BAföG, Verdienst oder weitere Stipendien?
Verfügen Sie über ein anderes Einkommen (z.B. Gehalt, Stipendium) unter 992 Euro, wird Ihr Einkommen auf die Stipendienhöhe angerechnet. Ein BAföG Bezug schließt den Empfang des Stipendiums aus.
Sollten Sie rückwirkend von anderer Stelle eine Finanzierung erhalten (z.B. BAföG oder weitere Stipendien), müssen Sie die jeweilige Stelle über den Erhalt des NRWege-Stipendiums informieren und mit einer Rückforderung rechnen.
Ändern sich Ihre Einkommensverhältnisse während des Stipendienbezugs, müssen Sie das International Office informieren und mit einer Anpassung des Stipendiums rechnen.
Informationen zum Aufenthaltsstatus
Förderfähig sind Studierende mit Fluchterfahrung bei denen eins der folgenden Kriterien erfüllt ist:
- Eine erste Entscheidung des BAMF liegt vor (Ausnahme §24)
- Es erfolgte eine Aufnahme zum vorübergehenden Schutz
- Es erfolgte eine Aufnahme aus humanitären Gründen
- Es erfolgte eine Aufnahme aus dem Ausland
- Es besteht keine vollziehbare Ausreisepflicht

NRWege grants for students with refugee experience
The International Office awards grants for students with refugee experience. The programme is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Eligible to apply for the grants are:
Students with refugee experience who are enrolled at the University of Münster. Language course participants and PhD students are not eligible to apply for the grant.
Application deadline
You can apply for the NRWege grants until 31 July 2025.
What are the application requirements?
You can apply for the NRWege grants:
- if your university entrance qualification was obtained outside Germany/abroad
- if you are expected to successfully complete your studies
- if you do not receive social benefits/welfare
- if you do not have a settlement permit (Niederlassungserlaubnis)
- if you do not have German citizenship
- if you have entered Germany no more than five years ago. There are exceptions to this rule. Please contact us if this rule applies to you/your situation.
- if you have applied for BAföG and your request was rejected
- if you have no other income ≥ 992 €

What types of grants are available?
Full grant | max. 12 months | max. 992 € per month
Merit-based grant | max. 12 months | max. 300€ per month (in addition to BAföG, income or another scholarship)
How can you apply for the NRWege grants?
Please complete our online application form on Indico by 31 July 2025 and upload the required documents.
A selection committee will evaluate all grant applications. A decision will be made based on the submitted documents. You will be informed about the final decision until 31 August 2025.
What application documents do you need to submit?
• Curriculum vitae (CV)
• Letter of motivation

- What made you choose your study programme?
- What are your plans after the completion of your studies?
• Enrolment certificate
• Residence permit (both sides)
• Self-declaration of income
• BAföG: Notification of application or rejection (without a certificate from the BAföG office, we cannot proceed with your application)
• Current Transcript of Records (from the 2nd semester onwards)
• Letter of recommendation from a professor confirming academic performance and prospects of academic success (only if you apply for a follow-up grant or submit your first application from the 4th semester onwards)
• Proof of social commitment or voluntary work (if available)
• Final declaration
What are the pecularities related to BAföG, income or other grants?
If you are a recipient of an income or another grant ≤ 992 €, this will be deducted from the monthly grant sum. If you receive BAföG, you cannot apply for the NRWege grants.
If you receive funding from another source retroactively (e.g. BAföG or other grant), you must inform the respective source about the receipt of the NRWege grant and expect a reclaim. You need to tell the International Office about any changes in your financial circumstances.
If your financial situation changes, a modification of the amount of the NRWege grant can be expected.
Information on residence titels
You need to meet one of the following requirements:
- An initial decision on your asylum application has been made by the BAMF (except for §24)
- You have been admitted for temporary protection
- You have been admitted on humanitarian grounds
- You have been admitted from abroad
- There is no enforceable obligation to leave the country
