DESCRIPTION:We are happy to invite you to the Kiss Lab: a workshop aimed a
t creating a space where people can explore the intimacy of physical close
ness outside romantic and sexual contexts. Although by the end of the work
shop you might kiss someone\, this is not a given nor is it necessary. The
main goal is to have the opportunity to slow down and focus on the senses
engaged when we come close to one another. Under the guidance of two work
shop leaders\, participants will engage in various exercises that will bri
ng them closer to one another in various stages: from looking at one anoth
er from a couple of meters’ distance\, through getting close enough to p
erceive the smell of another\, to gently touching and\, perhaps\, kissing.
\n \nThe exercises in the various stages will be done with different part
ners\, so do not expect to only interact with one person. In this way part
icipants have the chance to experience individual encounters that involve
a level of intimacy differently than in ordinary situations of flirting or
dating.\n \nAlong with the facilitators and participants\, during the wo
rkshop there will be other people to support you\, including an awareness
team that is there to ensure that everyone feels as safe as possible and p
rovide support in case someone needs to process experiences that surface d
uring the encounters. Rest areas will be provided so that if you want or n
eed  to step out of the exercises you have a chance to do so.\n \nNames
do not matter during the workshop. The organisers encourage the participan
ts to engage with one another with as little prior knowledge about each ot
her as possible and partake in creating an accountable space. All genders
and ages are welcome and participants are expected to be open to engage wi
th others irrespective of markers such as age\, gender\, and ability. The
workshop is a bilingual space. Facilitators will provide instructions in E
nglish [KK1] [2] and German and in case a participant requires translati
on during interactions\, support will be provided from the volunteers at t
he workshop.\n \nAre you interested?\nPlease apply using this link: https
