Digital data accumulates in practically every scientific work: Survey data, laboratory values, photos etc. And both the University of Münster and the various third-party funding agencies expect scientists to handle this data responsibly: Starting with the planning of data collection, through the collection and evaluation of data, its publication, to secure storage and archiving.
The lecture will deal with this so-called "life cycle" of research data: What expectations are placed on the scientists? What should be considered regarding storage formats and storage locations? How can research data and results be published digitally? What possibilities exist for publishing Open Access? What kind of support do the University of Münster and the University Library (ULB) offer in these areas?
Target group:
The event is aimed at all scientists at the University of Münster.
