This workshop is fully booked. For information on future workshops offered through the Book Studio, subscribe to the book studies mailing list or follow us on Instagram.
Participants in this workshop will have a chance to experiment with monoprinting techniques using found objects—a range of everyday items of different shapes and textures—in order to create unique prints. Prints will be made using mini printing presses from the Open Press Project.
Materials will be provided but participants are encouraged to bring in their own found objects to experiment with. Some examples might be leaves or flowers; small items such as paper clips, rubberbands, or thread; or anything textured that you think might create an interesting relief or print!
Participants should read the first four pages of Miriam Hancill's article "Monoprint: an opening up of 'printness'?"
A short tutorial on monoprinting with mini presses (optional) can be found here.
This workshop begins at 4pm sharp. Printing can be messy, so please dress accordingly.
